Bolivia- Las Olas #4
Hello Everyone, this slide show is of one of the most wonderful hotels in all of Bolivia. It is located in Copacabana, located on the edge of Lake Titicaca. Las Olas is owned by a German architect with a flair for making each room unique and very individual. Currently there are only 6 rooms as they take a year to build each. We stayed in number 4 (Tortuge) which is two stories and shaped like a catenary arch. It has two windows that match that arch continuing from the first floor to the second. The circular bed looked better than its problems of climbing in. Don’t miss the tiny tear drop lights.
I have included photos from number 1 which features a wooden staircase supported by a single log and each step is held by three bolts. All rooms have wooden vessel sinks and tables made from log slabs. The entire hotel overlooks the Copacabana bay.
