Recife-and Brazil highway 101
Hello Fabulous Friends,
These snapshots were taken on the way from Salvador to Recife Brazil. The highway had many detours away from the coast, as many towns were washed out by a devastating flood. Brick houses close to the river were washed away by the twelve foot walls of water. Sometimes the entire cobblestone streets were swept away leaving only bedrock.
Along the road the very poorest of workers live in the smallest houses I have ever seen: two meters by two meters, built out of mud and bamboo.
I have a special interest in the Noble Brazilian Horseman.
During the World Cup when Brazil plays, everyone stops to watch the game.
Enjoy the photos Mike
