Ollantaytambo Hike-On-the-ruins
Ollantaytambo is the very center of the Sacred Valley in which was the Washington DC for the Incas. It is a very fertile valley but the area also refers to many of the mountains where they did extensive terracing. This hike was to a granary located up about halfway a very steep and rocky mountain. It overlooked the main ruins of Ollantaytambo which had rock carvings that showed techniques even better that that of Machu Picchu. Centrally located, we stayed there for 4 nights so as to take day trips to Moray, Machu Picchu etc…
