The town of Segovia with its awe inspiring aqueduct are located about one hour west of Madrid.
The aqueduct is built of large granite blocks without any mortar. It runs a total of twenty miles before arriving in the city. At its tallest, the aqueduct reaches a height of 28.5 meters (93.5 ft), including nearly 6 meters (19.7 ft) of foundation. From the point it enters Segovia, until it reaches its final destination, it boasts 75 single arches and 44 double arches.
